Zhao Yao novel and drama comparison 2

Update: I realised that someone is translating the novel, rejoice! So I won't be translating the whole novel, I would be translating parts of the novel that I like and are related to what I'm posting, so not all the cute scenes are covered haha. In some snippets, I skipped paragraphs and it would be stated. I would also like to apologise if the quality of this post is not as good (full of grammatical/ spelling errors) as the first part because I am rushing this out literally right before I go overseas. I will come back and review this post and my translations later on.

Also, I have not listed ALL the differences eg in the previous post. Like when Moqing saved Zhaoyao from Jiang Wu, it actually started raining, so when we learn that he was injured and the rain made it worse, I felt sad. It was also right after saving her that Zhaoyao does the 'my heart hurts' dialogue which happens in a different scene from the novel. The way Zhaoyao seals up Luo Mingxuan is also different.

Nobody requested this in the end but I had free time waiting for the next few episodes haha. It's my first time doing such a post so please give me tips on how to improve and tell me if you like it! Update: You can find part 2 on the blog!

I am enjoying this drama although some parts (like the righteous sects talking) seem slow paced compared to the novel. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the main cast and the CG is not bad for a mid-budget Chinese production. The action scenes were quite lacklustre to me though, and they seem to cover it up by using lots of explosions.
I would say the first 3-4 episodes were quite slow and I didn't want to continue watching, until I saw all the Instagram and YouTube clips. I continued watching and was so glad I did!

This is originally a Taiwanese novel so you read it up to down, right to left in traditional Chinese. I borrowed this book from a friend, it's in simplified Chinese cuz I can't read traditional Chinese hohoho, but the book retained its vertical sentence structure. It's about two childhood friends, both named Ting Yu. The female Ting Yu is tall and often mistaken for a handsome boy while the male is a flower boy. the story shows how they grow, how they both broke up with their partners and fell in love etc. This story is honestly not my cup of tea but I did find some of the character's interactions cute and funny.

Synopsis:

"From friends to lovers, there is a benefit. Because the two people already have a certain degree of closeness so they can pass the awkwardness of people who have just started dating."

"What about lovers who became friends?"

"That will be even more precious. Because we have loved before, lost before, so we will understand each other even better and know how to treasure this friendship which is not easily obtained."

"Then what if we were friends and became lovers and then became friends again?"

Background info:
The females were in the outer court of the imperial gardern. The males the inner court. All sorts of people wanted to implicate Yun Qian Meng and make her marry one of the Bei Qi royalties. Or maybe make the Bei Qi princess marry Chen Wang or Chu Fei Yang? Yun Qian Meng took a pill and drew dots on her face to feign illness so that she could wear a veil  Anyway, in the end Hai Tian was the sacrifice.

Okay so to give background info: Chen Wang kidnapped Yun Qian Meng and wanted to marry her while giving her a new identity, who knew that she was swapped with Yun Ruo Xue and he actually went through the wedding ceremony with her 0__o The  he got news that Chu Fei Yang was suddenly marrying Yun Qian Meng tonight so he rushed to the prime minister's estate which was decorated in red blah blah blah but turns out that the actual ceremony was held in Chu wang's estate. Chu Wang is Chu Fei Yang's grandfather if you guys forgot. Anyway since Chen Wang went alone he could not beat Chu Fei Yang, Chu Wang and Xi Lin together so he gave up. This snippet picks up when they are in the newly wed's chamber. Btw, for those of you who will be disappointed, I did not translate the bed scene... yea...

Just a few things to note to facilitate your reading: 

-Yun Qian Meng has 2 cousins (older brother and younger sister pair) from her mother's side whom she is quite close to, they are genuinely nice people. The cousin she is referring to is the girl who is a few years older than her. 

-Prior to this chapter, Chu Fei Yang had visited Yun Qian Meng's room in the middle of the night a few times without her consent.

-This scene takes place after a gathering at Chen Wang's place. Wu Qin Qin is someone who approached Yun Qian Meng with hidden agendas a few chapters prior to this.

-During the gathering, Chen Wang was alone with Yun Qian Meng is a fake hill/ mountain/cave kinda thing and tried to use force on her. Luckily Chu Fei Yang appeared in time.

-Later on during that gathering, Yun Qian Meng retailiated and trapped Wu Qin Qin.

- [1] The second character of one's name + the character "er" is used as a term of endearment. Used for women and children.

-The gathering happens some time after Yun Qian Meng was bestowed to Chu Fei Yang. (When he knelt down and asked the emperor to allow him to marry Yun Qian Meng in front of so many people kyaaaaa)

This chapter will be about food! The interactions between Chu Wang (Chu Fei Yang's grandfather), Chu Fei Yang and Yun Qian Meng are just so funny. She bullies Chu Fei Yang a bit in this part muahaha. Oh, and Jiao Da also gets to eat with them! Jiao Da is in charge of Chu Wang's (Wang meaning prince) household and is very capable and can fight well, you will see quite a bit of him after chap 70+ in the Chinese novel.
