Jiang Hu Lu Wan Wan chapter 1

**I made some minor adjustments in hopes that it will be easier to read.

This novel is kind of like a Wuxia novel so there would be a lot of new terms. I learnt them from watching Jin Yong's dramas hahaha. Anyway, enjoy :)

*A sect is like a fraction. There are good and bad sects. Usually women from evil sects are called demonesses.

Sheng Gu =Literal meaning: Holy/ sacred/ great woman

Jianghu = martial arts world, the equivalent of Korea's Murim

Chapter 1: Not of age yet I already look like this

Pang Wan stared at the mercury mirror, lost in thought.

The reflection belonged to a radiant and beautiful young girl with a clean and bright oval face, thin eyebrows, cunning pitch-black eyes and red cheeks as if she had put blusher on. She had a small mouth with dimples on both her cheeks.

"... Not of age yet I already look like this, in the future, just how many heroes would fight for me?"

If you remember the short story, this is the actually what happened hahaha, presenting you the original pictures~ I will translate the words~

*I am not sure if there are other pictures for this story because I haven't seen anymore. But leaving it here probably means there is a good ending unlike the short story I wrote heheheh, this make me feel better. HE is the best :P I think (not sure) the artist of these pictures is Ibuki Satsuki, she has lovely art!

Chu Wang Fei Snippet Chapter 103

Just a few things to note to facilitate your reading: 

-Yun Qian Meng has 2 cousins (older brother and younger sister pair) from her mother's side whom she is quite close to, they are genuinely nice people. The cousin she is referring to is the girl who is a few years older than her. 

-Prior to this chapter, Chu Fei Yang had visited Yun Qian Meng's room in the middle of the night a few times without her consent.

-This scene takes place after a gathering at Chen Wang's place. Wu Qin Qin is someone who approached Yun Qian Meng with hidden agendas a few chapters prior to this.

-During the gathering, Chen Wang was alone with Yun Qian Meng is a fake hill/ mountain/cave kinda thing and tried to use force on her. Luckily Chu Fei Yang appeared in time.

-Later on during that gathering, Yun Qian Meng retailiated and trapped Wu Qin Qin.

- [1] The second character of one's name + the character "er" is used as a term of endearment. Used for women and children.

-The gathering happens some time after Yun Qian Meng was bestowed to Chu Fei Yang. (When he knelt down and asked the emperor to allow him to marry Yun Qian Meng in front of so many people kyaaaaa)

-[2] Wang Fu: Prince's mansion. For Chu Fei Yang, since he is the prime minister 相 Xiang, his mansion will be called Xiang Fu.

Okay! A short story for you guys! The above picture was what inspired me to write it lol~ And since my Chinese is pretty bad, I think that there are certain grammatically wrong sentences XP.

The text says : I have waited for you for so long... ... You are very late, I am angry.

Anyway, I included and English translation so enjoy! Hopefully this keeps you satisfied for a few weeks while I translate the Chu Wang Fei snippet haha.

江湖路弯弯 Jiang Hu Lu Wan Wan (Jiang Hu's road is curved) by 影照 Ying Zhao (HE)

Introducing a new book to everyone! The meaning of the title is that Jiang Hu's road is not easy... I can see that after reading the synopsis hahaha. The author of the book also wrote The crazy adventures of Wu gate which is one of the 50, most influential Chinese internet novels and it's really funny! One of my favourites, guaranteed to laugh if you understand her jokes (References to modern day actors and songs).

Chu Wang Fei Snippet 2 chap 91-92

This chapter will be about food! The interactions between Chu Wang (Chu Fei Yang's grandfather), Chu Fei Yang and Yun Qian Meng are just so funny. She bullies Chu Fei Yang a bit in this part muahaha. Oh, and Jiao Da also gets to eat with them! Jiao Da is in charge of Chu Wang's (Wang meaning prince) household and is very capable and can fight well, you will see quite a bit of him after chap 70+ in the Chinese novel.

Manhua + Novel review: 孤芳不自赏 A Lonesome Fragrance Waiting to be Appreciated (Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang) by 风弄 (Feng Nong) 4/5 Stars

This is one of the novels that will  have a special place in my heart because it's the first novel I read at the book bar - Shushengbar (SSB). I had read the Manhua first and upon discovering that there was a novel I decided to search it up, leading to my discovery of this awesome website. A must go for those who love Chinese novels or want to read translated versions of them.

Synopsis (from SSB)
Bai Ping Ting had never believed in the saying that “ladies without a talent is a virtue.” She is Xiao Jing An Wang’s maid, yet lives with more dignity than the usual ladies, what she relies on is not beauty, but instead is her head that is more wise and intelegent than that of a man’s. She does not need others to sympathize on her average appearance. What she wants is another soul of the same level as her, whom she can compete with. So, even if that man is the general of the the opponent country, even if all between them is deceits and schemes, she is still unable to not be tempted by this man. If between love and loyalty, there is only one choice, she can only hope, Chu Bei Jie’s love, is not as deep as she expects…

I rate it a 3.5/5 as I like the female lead, she is quite smart. It also shows how a lowly person like a maid in ancient times can become something which is rather different since most novels usually  have a lady of noble birth even if she is not favoured. Bai Pingting is of 'lower' birth through and through without any hidden identity/ birth secrets. But I felt like it kind of went downhill in the 2nd book so the rating is not so high.

Characters: (Brief introduction)

Bai Ping Ting- Female lead of the story, she is plain looking but very smart. she is Jing An Wang's maid at the start of the story. However, she wears better clothes than some rich ladies and does not do much house work. Due to a fire in the house, she gets cut off from Jing An Wang and sold off to another family. She serves the mistress of this family, the mistress is about to get married but has a lover. She gets Bai Ping Ting who is about the same build as her to sub in for her while she sneaks out of the house. During this time Chu Bei Jie gets attracted to the sound of the Gu Qin [1] she was playing.

Chu Bei Jie- Male lead of the story, he Dong Lin's King's younger brother. He made a name for himself on the battlefield, being smart and strong with extremely fast troops. He mistakes Ping Ting as her mistress ( As she was in the room playing the Gu Qin and did not see her face). Eventually he finds out who she is and forces her to stay by his side. Originally she does not like him as she was being forced to be with him but eventually she falls for him.

He Xia (Jing An Wang)- Kind of villain-ish character. I won't really consider him the bad guy. He has always liked Ping Ting but never forced her to marry him even though his father already gave his consent. He is also famous on the battlefield as he is also smart and strong. He marries the princess of Yun Chang in hopes to gain military support against Chu Bei Jie and He Su. His whole family gets wiped off by his cousin He Su (the king) as He Su felt threatened by his popularity. Chu Bei Jie is also one of the causes and so He Xia feels a deep sense of hatred against Chu Bei Jie.

There is also a manhua for it but it stopped at 2 volumes as the publisher went bankrupt. The art is really nice.

The manhua (with English translations) can be easily found on manga websites and the Chinese novel or English translation can be found at SSB.

So, as you can see from the picture this part is going to be from their wedding! Not a great chapter but still more interesting than chapter 1.

This book is pretty okay, I read it a while ago but I still remember the storyline pretty well. The first chapter is not that interesting and does not really hook people on but I'll translate it. Although this book is not as good as other time travelling books such as Crazy Adventures of Wu Gates and Chu Wang Fei, it is unique as the female lead time travels to the future and gets into a relationship (without truly loving the guy) before time travelling back again.
